Praise in the midst of trials

Yesterday I had an experience that I can say never had happened to me in all my life. While playing golf, the golf cart brake became disengaged (or it wasn’t properly set), and while we were looking for a ball, the golf cart rolled into the water.

I must tell you it was funny and embarrassing at the same time, and thanks to my daughter, Danielle, I’ve now become a celebrity on Facebook.

Needless to say, we’re having a wonderful time. Part of it is the ability to hear what the Lord is saying to us. In 1 Samuel 16:23 the scripture tells us how David was playing the harp, and when distressing spirits would come on Saul, they would leave him.

That word “distressing” could also be translated depression. We live in a day and time where a lot of people are facing depression and the antidote that helped Saul is the antidote that will help you today. When we come into the presence of the Lord with praise and worship, it lifts our spirits, encourages us, and gives us strength to fight our battles.

May today be a day where your life is filled with praise and depression is far from you.
